“ Went here for the first time last week after having a good swim at the local pool. We arrived about 6.45pm and the queue was snaking around the shop and out of the door! Always a good sign. We waited about 15 minutes in total due to the demand for food, but that meant that everything was freshly cooked. My friends went for the "mini cod and chips" - MINI??! We were so taken back by the size of the battered fish they had picked out that we thought they had mistaken the order! Amazing portion sizes at this place. I caught sight of the donner meat so I decided to go for that with chips and salad in a tray....again a HUGE portion and only £4.30! I really couldn't fault it, it was delicious. Can't wait to go back. ”

“ Had a simple chip barm and it was delicious. The barm (or bap) was big and fresh and the chips perfect, some of the best I've had. We have good chippies up North and this would challenge most. My dad have a small fish, cod, that was spot on and was not greasy. Staff were very pleasant and polite. If I lived closer I'd go again without doubt. ”

“ What a find. Fabulous fish fab chips. Friendly and welcoming staff. We sat outside, the family owned shop helped us so much and got the table and chairs out for us on a warm summer's evening. I have to just say although my first review was awesome, second visit not so much, from different staff no eye contact, we asked to sit outside like before but we were denied! So had to sit in the car. So it depends on the staff who are on and we have no control over that! Keep smiling staff and eye contact is essential. ”

The minute I walked up the staff greeted me and were very friendly and when taking my order they helped me pick what I wanted. “ An exceptional Fish and Chip Shop in this area, of a high standard. We enjoyed Fresh Cod, Chips and a Chicken Kebab. The portions are generous, the fish very fresh and very tasty. The batter a bit thicker than perfect, but very nice, the chips not too crispy, so just right for me. There is a short but courteous wait as the fish was cooked fresh, which, lets be honest, is fab. The kebab was nice too. Their Plaice looked enourmous, and the staff were all very pleasant. I will not get here too frequently, due to not being near but will be back. ”
